Notes on the origin of Camera Infractus (I), 2005/2012
www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/374674
Born of accident,Camera Infractus (I) is a sequence of images edited from the first digital camera I purchased in 2005. I used the camera for almost 5 months before its sudden and total malfunction onboard an Airbus A320 bound for Los Angeles. At the time, I returned to color negative film, and stored the files away, forgotten until the Spring of 2012 when they were rediscovered and edited as a non-narrative photographic novel or image fiction, a communiqué of uncertain dimension. Oddly enough, the digital camera I was using in 2012 when I rediscovered the work was itself malfunctioning and provided the image that would become the cover of the book. And, all of the images that comprise Camera Infractus were lost to a bad hard drive, so now the work only exists as a book available to view here, click on “Read Now” after following the link, enjoy www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/374674
